Behind the Image
Photo taken in north Georgia near Helen. I call these the “guardian geese”. My family and I were walking a trail near the cabin we were staying in at Christmas. We came upon a small cottage on a pond and these two geese were swimming together. They became quite upset when they saw us and were swimming about, huffing and honking. They both were swimming in perfect synchrony towards the shore (where I took this photo). Once there they came out of the water started coming at us so we walked away. But the way in which they both puffed up and swam and honked their disapproval was humorous and just captured perfectly in their expressions and stiff demeanor.
